I also have a black USA made Goodyear rubber hose that is roughly 10 years old that is doing the same thing. In the winter it gets oily and sticky like it's venting off chemicals or something, but is in like new condition with no cracks or anything just sticky when cold.

Tjc, do you know where Chief was based out of in the USA ? I can't seem to find much of anything about Chief, but they appear well made vises. Just want to find some History on Chief and what Foundry it might of been cast at...........Thanks for the info guys, Slydog
