Duracraft drill press model FM-514 owner's manual needed

I bought a Duracraft DP500 a few weeks ago. After many hours of searching for a manual and parts list, the best I could find (well, for free) was a series of nine .jpg (picture) files, which I'm attaching to perhaps help others. HTH.

    Milwaukee speed switch is stuck

Thanks for the tip. I could only move the rotating BPM switch on the (used, Milwaukee corded 1/2" hammer) drill I just bought from "2" (pointed straight back) some 90* (to pointed straight down). With your approach, I quickly was able to move it a full 180* to "1" (pointed straight to the...

sanding an aluminum table saw top?

Have any of you used a synthetic paint sealant (like Klasse, Meguiars Mirror Glaze #20 Polymer Sealant, etc.) instead of Butchers wax? Would those sealers (harder than wax in terms of durability) bond to the properly-prepared cast aluminum?

sanding an aluminum table saw top?

Bob, I was just talking with my step dad a moment ago about this very topic (smooth the table, then finish it with some sort of paste wax, like Butcher's). He doesn't know a lot about table saws, as he'd readily admit, but he is super savvy re cars, motors, old tractors, etc. and even he...

sanding an aluminum table saw top?

To your next point, I agree that cleaning and lubing all of the mechanisms is important. I've been using either WD or some dry sprays (teflon or silicone) for the thin film after i've done the cleaning up.. I just read about PG2000 today. What do you recommend?

sanding an aluminum table saw top?

Tom, I was just about to make a comment about usage for this saw, but then i saw your post. Like you, it will be a construction saw for me. Throw it onto the tailgate or on a jury-rigged work bench made of 2x sawhorses and a piece of ply. I won't be using it for fussy/pretty stuff like...

sanding an aluminum table saw top?

bob, Good point. I was thinking figuratively about the "sanding". I have the 3M pads in almost every color, so I'd likely start there, before deciding to go or not go with 400/800/1200 grit. My primary question (apologies for not being clear in my post) is: How did the "last steps" in the...

sanding an aluminum table saw top?

shannonw, How did your approach work for you? I bought a (very) used 744 this morning for short $$, but the cast aluminum table has only about 15% of the original finish on it. I spoke with DeWalt tech today and they informed me that the finish was not anodized (which is what I'd expected to...
