    Rock Island Vises - History/Info?

This old vise deal is cool. I never once thought of a vise as a masterpiece until a few days ago. Holy Smokes..... there’s some nice vises out there. That Wilton 8400 is something else. I hope a can find one in a yard sale for $3 like this one guy I read about. Hell, I might even offer 5 bucks...

    Old Dunlap 1/4 Horse split 115 7396

Ok the flange is spinning freely now but there’s something holding it to the shaft. I have blasters soaking in now. It feels like a socket on a wrench. Is there a button that’ll retract a ball or something to release the flange??? I’m not going to mess with Her anymore until I get some answers...

    Old Dunlap 1/4 Horse split 115 7396

Oh I thought high grit was fine and low would be corse. I didn’t want to take off to much material all at once. Ok I’ll try the 80 just for a second or 2. It feels like there’s a set screw holding it on but I’ve looked everywhere and there isn’t. No key either. Let me try sanding again. I’ll...
