Pre-fab steel building dealers in Southern Ontario

Check out Braemar from Empire Corners, they did my 40'x60'x21' at the peak. I didn't want a pre-fab "Butler" type building. The building itself came out of Central New York built to Braemar specs. I will look to see if there any pictures left, my computer crashed last year and lost most of them.

What did you do "TO" your garage today?

Finished the shop air line today, had run 3/4" black pipe around the north/west bench walls and overhead to the hoist in the winter. Hung the air dryer/regulator and pressure tested everything else. No leaks:bounce: Next project is chain and load binder rack located by the driveway door for...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Sorted thru a trailer load of furniture today, chairs, desks, horizontal file cabinets, office supplies and an old phone system. It was a "help a friend deal" when they got stuck with the task of clearing out a lawyers office. Some of it will be useful, heavy desks might work out as a nice...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced 4 seized bearing sets on the closer wheels for a JD 752 planter today along with other maintenance and greasing. 110 acres down, many more to go. Maxi Max the shop cat was helping out again, keeping the chair safe:lol:

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Changed out the timing belt, tensioner and water pump on Grandson's '11 Kia Rio late yesterday/early this AM. Since this is an interference engine a 60k km change-out interval is suggested, this one made it to 100k. No sense tempting fate much beyond that.

    Putting junk together

Very good work! The wife has been after me for years to clean up the scrap pile and try this type of thing, you have convinced me to try it out. With the amount of scrap still left in "The Library of Mechanical Solutions", I should have a lifetime supply:lol_hitti

    Radiant heat or forced air?

If you are thinking about doing in-floor radiant, two things to consider. Do not skimp on under-slab insulation and instal sufficient length of tubing to use a lower input temperature vs high temp supply temp to the loop. You can change the heat source depending what you have for a fuel...

    Natural Gas Wall Heater

Check if the heater is approved for use in enclosed living spaces. A CO detector is a wise investment not only in the area the appliance is located but in the living space as well. Geography plays a part, we are getting "Thunder Ice", lightning and thunder while ice pellets are coming down.

    Natural Gas Wall Heater

Non-vented natural or propane gas fueled appliances are not certified for use in Ontario and unlikely anywhere else in Canada. There are a number of factors. Firstly.. Very high risk of CO poisoning since the products of combustion is vented into the area where combustion air for the appliance...

    Unit NG heater vent help

You are not going to like what I will suggest but given your situation and the conditions to which the heating equipment/venting is exposed to this will control the air flow out the venting. This would be an application for infrared tube heater that vents and draws combustion air from outside...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Don't know if you have a tractor or not but I was able to ratchet strap the posts of my Bendpak to the quick attach frame of the loader. Used an old tractor tire tube to protect the posts from scratching. Straddled the post, lowered down the bucket frame cradle and strapped them on, used the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished off the winter beater today. It had a few problems left over from last winter, fuel pump quit and all the plastic fuel lines split on the tank. Replaced the fuel tank and filler tube. Next on the list was a rotted brake line, got that done and bled out. Even time for a test drive...
