Building myself a 36x30 pole building garage

I didn't bother with CAT5 or coax. I do everything wireless pretty much - and even watch TV out there, watch football games online on my laptop. I did 3 coats of paint all over - and that composite siding eats up paint with those nooks and crannies. we'll see how long it lasts - thanks

My garage is 30'. I have the lift about 13' from the back wall. Pics attached to show you the layout. Workbench is about 2' deep I pulled the straight 6 out of my '55 chevy with the trans attached and had plenty of maneuvering room, I even had the car on the lift about a foot or so when...

    Pole Barn vs Garage

I built my 36'x30'x10' garage as a pole building. Has been cheaper so far than stick-built, but I've done everything myself. I think its been about $20k so far. I'm not finishing the interior beyond the bare walls. I have to get the electrical inspection done this week and I should get final...

Building myself a 36x30 pole building garage

Digging the trench and laying out the conduit and pulling the wires through. I rented a ditchwitch to make the trench, 18", used 1 1/2" schedule 40 gray PVC conduit. I got 75' of 2-2-2-4 AL mobile home feeder to pull through. It was $1.40/ft at Lowes. Pulling the cable through went pretty...

Building myself a 36x30 pole building garage

I finally got around to getting some fill dirt and item 4 to get the driveway area expanded and fill in out back and grade around the building. I'll probably pave next spring. Next thing is to dig the trench and run the service line out to the garage so I can have some power out there.

Post pics of your vintage style goose neck outside lights on your garage...

That's the same reason I didn't get longer neck lights. The roof overhang is about 12" plus the 1" fascia board and the 5" gutters - so 18" or so. The lights stick out about 16". I really need to put snow guards on the roof anyway - we had pretty much 0" of snow last year so it wasnt an issue...

    Maintenance-free fascia board

I used Azek on my garage. I'm very happy with it.

The demolition guy wants the customer to pull the permit ?

Not sure how it is out there - but the home/land owner signs the permit application here. The license/bonding/insurance info of each contractor doing work is required in the permit for workers comp proof. If the contractor wanted to do the permit - they would have to bring it to you to...

Building myself a 36x30 pole building garage

Some more progress - I almost completely abandoned doing any new work on it lately because of other to-dos like weddings, mini vacation with the family, kids sports, etc... But I did find time to finish up the siding, get some paint on it, work on th e overhang soffits. This stuff takes...

There's no need for a header on the non truss carrying sides. For carrying the trusses, I notched the post for the header so that not only the bolt is carrying the weight
