I don't think it is really used on assembly lines. It could be, but most assembly lines don't have need for a reverse. Then again, they might not have had a comparable screwdriver without the reverse.

I use Torque on my android phone with a bluetooth ODB2 reader that I got off of Amazon. The app was $7 and the reader was $20 I believe. It shows realtime info, along with different tests and graphs. I personally only use it when I get a check engine light, so I can't really tell you how good...
