By vent I mean installing a separate vent to let some fresh air into house. This would give me a little time to find an alternate heat source.

I am going to try installing a vent. When I am there I crack a window to keep fresh air moving in. Building something to keep the split out of snow shouldn’t be a big problem.

Yeah, I think it is only for the fan. The heater doesn’t use electricity so I’m not sure a line voltage stat would work.

I have a Mr. Heater 30k btu ventless natural gas heater (less than year old). It has a built in thermostat with a 1-5 setting. I want to add a “heat only” basic 2 wire thermostat so I can run the heater at 50 degrees in my cabin over the winter. Is this possible? If so, thanks!!
