    Clever stock metal storage?

I’m looking for inspiration on clever ways to store off cuts and sheet metal once it’s cut down to smaller sizes? What have you guys found works so you don’t end up throwing bits to the back of shelves and forgetting about them?

    Hand File Question

Thanks everyone - I am using the file correctly; the job was on site / away from the workshop and I had to file the part in its assembly without dismantling but it was held solid in position. I didn't realise the noise was related to vibration but that makes sense - going to try the chalk trick...

    Hand File Question

Perhaps an obvious one, but with my brand new hand files you always get a satisfying cutting noise as you use them (on metal), however some have started to squeak as you use them; is this the sign that they're blunt or that the metal I'm filing is too hard for them? Thanks for any help!

Automotive Auxiliary / Fan Belt Tension Gauge

    Splitting Axes

Thanks for all the replies - great tips especially from Larry. Had a brief hunt around for used axes; plenty available but none of any decent quality - sign of the times I guess. So I picked myself up two Fiskars; X11 and X21. Both are made for splitting and have a bit of weight but not too...

    tin snips

I think from reading above I'll be buying WISS, but has anyone got experience of Gilbow's? They seem to have been around for a long time, still manufactured in the old shape / style so by that you'd think they'd be good? Not sure if they're only available in the UK?
