    RedAggie03's Oversized 2-Car Garage Build

Red, Based on the images of your garage and your stated location in your flooring thread, I am sure you live within 2 miles of me. Its an old neighborhood and people have been building garages over the easements for some time now. My next door neighbor has one that was built without a permit...

    Interesting LED product coming soon?

I like the idea of the recessed cr14 lights. They also seem to be IC rated which solves a problem I have found while looking for recessed troffers of that size. They are some what spendy though. http://www.alconlighting.com/cree-cr14-44-watt-1-4-led-architectural-troffer-3500k-step-dimming.html...

    Flush mounting a 4' T8 Recessed Troffer?

Thanks for the info MrMark. I don't think my house has a fire rated ceiling as it was built in 1955, but I don't want to do any thing that would make it difficult to sell or dangerous. My understanding is that anything done in 1955 is fine as long as it complies with 1955 code. Anything I do...

    Flush mounting a 4' T8 Recessed Troffer?

I thought I would bring this back up, and see if I could get some advice. I have a one story house with an attached garage. The attic above the garage is open to the attic of the house. I like the idea of recessed troffers but am curious if you guys think it might be against fire code to cut...

    Tile Installation

I have been considering tile for my garage and am in Houston. I have not received a quote for my garage, but based on a quote I got for my kitchen, 2.50 a ft for labor sounds pretty good. I am curious about what tile you decided to go with, if you care to share it. I have been looking locally...

    Stairway ramp for motorcycles?

After thinking this through for a moment....Can you tolerate the exhaust from warming a bike up in your basement? I don't think I would ride any bike up an incline like that while it was cold. Much less one that I had just been tinkering with.

    Stairway ramp for motorcycles?

The break over at the top would be my only concern. You would really want an arch at the top. Of course if you were riding a bike with some power, this might not be a problem. :) I am with you on the riding it part. Short of pulling or lowering with a winch, riding seems far safer to me. I would...

1st post : Here's my 20'X20' home garage that is ready for flooring.

Very nice garage and car. I am in the same boat as far as looking for a flooring solution that can be done in parts. I have a friend that did his floor in parts with two cheap epoxy kits from Lowes. The two kits were slightly off in color and he chose not to use the flakes. It looks horrible...

Please help identify this strange drill bit

A 1.25 inch hole? Looking for pretty small fish. :wtf: That would be about right for the fish I catch though. :)
