What did your wiring cost? Trying to get a consensus...

Can't remember exactly. Did it in 2012. Paid for with a near 900 dollar rebate from Menards from the original cost of the garage. Covered everything including garage door opener and insulation. 24x48.

    Composite Decking

Did mine just last year in Menard's UltraDeck. Love it so far, but need to do the railing this spring.

Need the opinion of a sparky

Oh God. I'd hard pass for something a little more mobility friendly, and not so maintenance intensive. As I age, I find things far harder, and I'm not chronically ill.

What is everyone's preference: OH doors on Gable or Eave wall?

Meh, I opted for both, as I really didn't have much choice, considering the driveway location. Vehicles go in gable end, implements come out one eave wall. Works for me. Driveway is about 400 feet long, so snow removal is done with ATV and plow. So far no issues in 10 or so years.

    Water Softener Suggestions

Same here, no problems whatsoever with my Kinetico, though initial cost was expensive. I don't understand that at all. I go through a 40lb bag every 3-4 months.

1/6 th scale cat dozer finished today

The Michigan Madman got quite a lot of use out of that Allison. Put it in a small station wagon also. Also had a "Volts Wagon" an electric sort of slot car with the Allison powering the generator. 120 mph in the quarter, which was amazing for an electric vehicle. You should build one of his...

Cannot get the site on my puter?

I used IE ever since Pentium 2. Started using Chrome a few years ago and a lot of problems went away. Still don't have an issue with it.

    Sticker Shock 30x40 New Build

This was right at 20K back in 2012. A $7500 kit, and a hired contractor did it with concrete for $12500. I did my own electric and insulation and still don't have 25K in it to this day. Not as tall as you want and no loft, but there maybe kits more your your liking. This one's 24X48

    Let's see your Herbrand!

I've got some, but I really don't like to admit it. Snapped several of the sockets with normal use. Got them way back in the early 70s, when a kid and new glassman couldn't really afford great tools, with the cheap ******* I worked for. Finally got a job working at Ford, and doubled my weekly...

    How to preserve the patina

I'd leave it as, other than painting the underside white.

Hey fellas... Can we have a mature discussion about tool brands?

I personally don't have a preference in hand tools, and will buy/take whatever suits me at the time. As a result, my large toolbox/cabinet consists of a mix of Craftsman, Powr-Kraft, Proto, and SK. There are virtually NO Snap-On tools in my box for two reasons. One, the exorbitant prices, and...

Garage door reverses just before closed

Yup, handles should definitely not be down that low.

    ceiling mounted TV in shop

Yeah, same here, for same amount of time, except not totally finished, so there's that for an excuse.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Made a brass collector for my RDB.
