Electric Heaters-Fahrenheat, King, TPI, Ouellet, or others

I have a 36x54 pole barn, 36x18 of it is going to be framed in, insulated, with a ceiling for a work shop. I just bought the Farenheit 4,000 watt unit, which may be slightly less than I need. Since I'm not finished framing in my shop yet, I have not had a chance to run it, (just bought it...

    Heat pumps

Is anyone using, or considered using a heat pump? My understanding is, they not only provide heat in the winter, but also provide cool air in the summer. I live in on the eastern end of Lake Erie, so we get some fairly cold, and hot summers, but what I've read, leaves to me understand that, in...

    Pole barn interior framing

64dragnwagon, that is almost the dimensions of my shop. I think the way you have it is most likely how I'll go. Still wondering about going 24" OC... since I'm using OSB ply for walls/ceiling. Did you use 2x8 or 2x6 for the ceiling joist's? Also, what is the insulation you are using?

    Pole barn interior framing

Horizontally. I did not think about that approach. Keep it simple. Thanks.

    Pole barn interior framing

Within my 36x54' building, I am framing in a shop that will be 36'x18'. I am thinking about placing studs 24" O.C. Poles are every 9'. I want to have a loft above the framed in structure, used mostly for storage, not much else. I will put insulation in the walls. But I am wondering about...

    Lighting/3-way

From my panel, 12/2 to light-1. From light -1 to light-2, a 12/2 wire. Back to light-1, running from that box, to the two switch panels is a 12/3, with the white wires now hot. It is this white wire that I have pigtailed as hot, to the black wires of the other two switches in each switch box. I...

    Lighting/3-way

This is now only my second post. I have been gathering a lot of great info from here. Where I'm at, this is a pole barn, 54x36 with 12 foot walls. my electrical inspector has done his preliminary inspection. I have now wired all my boxes for lights and recepticles. The power company came today...

    4/0, 4/0, 4/0 aluminum - 200amp service

POCO will connect to cable at the weather head.

    4/0, 4/0, 4/0 aluminum - 200amp service

Charles in GA. Thanks. That info helps me visualize what to do with those "stands". And sorry for the terminology misuse, yes the neutral, not ground. I made an attempt at pulling the strands together, somewhat, but then I wasn't sure if the electrical inspector would look at that and ask WTH...

    4/0, 4/0, 4/0 aluminum - 200amp service

So, if I am using the 4/0, 4/0,4/0,... when I look at my house service feed, there are three conductors connecting to my service/weather head. My question is, do I leave 3' of this braided wire for the power company to use as a "third" wire? and then ran to the meter hub? I guess I am just...

    4/0, 4/0, 4/0 aluminum - 200amp service

I am still not clear, regarding the 4/0, 4/0,4/0, in that, the stranded wire wrapped on the outside of the insulated consuctors... Is this the "ground" wire? Can it be used as a third conductor for the connection from the transformer, and the meter? Or, do I need to use the triplex?

    4/0, 4/0, 4/0 aluminum - 200amp service

My first post here. After talking to my electrical inspector, regarding my service feed into my new pole building... He told me to go with 4/0 aluminum cable. This will be for200 amp. It will be a separate meter, not coming from existing supply from my house. It will be a new utility pole, with...
