    Any Wells-Index Experts on Here?

I'm confident it's got grease in it, so good to know.

    Any Wells-Index Experts on Here?

My dad has a Wells Index model 847 knee mill in his shop. It's rarely used and needs a good going through, lubing, and cleaning. I've used it a few times but it's so cluttered in his shop I get frustrated working in there, and I've just been using the Bridgeport at work when I really need to get...

    Luxury vinyl install question

I just had this same brand and thickness put down in my house, installed by a sub contractor. I think from your description you're going to be absolutely fine. I went over mine with a shop vac to clean up debris, as what I was covering up was partially removed linoleum from a burst water...

LED High Bay Panels Failing. What's proven reliable?

I understand the thinking about using tube replacements, but somebody correct me here if I'm wrong, but that's not the best thing to use above 12'. Everything I'm familiar with in high ceiling applications used to be metal halide, and I'm really not interested in going that way. I'll probably...

LED High Bay Panels Failing. What's proven reliable?

Hi all, I researched thoroughly when I build my shop and decided on a light from LED wholesalers by James. They don't list on the site any more, but I think this is the model...

Understanding the differences among epoxy options...

We have a solid color light grey full flake at work and it looks fine visually, we were worried about the lost part issue. What's happened over time is you can see the floor wearing over the high spots in the clear over the full flake. It's not slick or awful looking, but it is noticeable. This...

    Ballistix Review and Testing

Good article. Interesting to see the orange peel issue that a few others on this forum have experienced, and I'm happy to read that you guys are working to improve the application procedure to ensure it goes down right. Ballistix is still on my short list of coatings for when I do my shop.

Mezzanine Dreams: Feasibility and what to Expect

Thanks for the comments. I haven't looked into a free standing steel structure, but the manufacturer of the building suggested making this free standing and not utilizing the buildings existing structure. Granted not in a huge level of detail, but I didn't push the issue, I know it was not...

Mezzanine Dreams: Feasibility and what to Expect

Yeah that's something I have to figure out. The footings for the main beams in the shop are pretty huge, as well as the perimeter foundation, I'm kinda hoping using those will be good enough.

Mezzanine Dreams: Feasibility and what to Expect

I apologize up front if this is asked too frequently by construction newbies (of which I am one), but I'm looking to get some idea of what to expect for the plans that I have before I jump in with a structural engineer etc. I've done quite a bit of reading through build threads but I can't quite...

    Funnel/greasy item storage?

For the life of me my funnels and hoses I use for brake bleeding etc always seem to end up either in some corner of the shop or piled on top of my oil drain barrel. I always clean them after I use them but some inherently drip, or seep oil. I'd love to see how you guys store funnels, etc when...

    Another Ballistix install thread

Thanks for the insight guys. For how I use my floor I doubt that light scratching would be noticeable, but good information to have.

    Dehumidify your Garage IF...

My shop is 30x50 with ~20' ceiling, but very air tight. We had a summer similar to OP where I got real bad mildew in every car, where for 3 years or so I had no issue. For me a home depot dehumidifier did the trick. I can't remember the size but it's about 1'x2'x3'. No more mildew, it stays 55%...

    Another Ballistix install thread

Any idea if the scratching you reference would be better or worse with the satin version of this product?

    Minimum shop bathroom size

I tried to do 4x4 since I have a house bath that size. Turns out the sink and the toilet drains were too close for code. Ended up at 5x5, square made sense for the layout of the building.
