I just went through this a couple weeks ago. Found the Skil driver at Menards on sale for about $20.
I like it, has decent power and a voltage detector for some wierd reason.
Jlarson, love those Veto bags. I use the Klien stuff. The Tradesman rolling bag is the best out there. The backpack holds all my computer ****, cables, laptop and some tools as well.
I would think you would need a pair of large channel locks to get the drill bit out. Maybe a phillips svrewdriver and a channel lock or similier. The getting the chuck off by the reverse thread screw.

I just started using strips of 1/8" x 3/4" steel or aluminum and put plastic clips on from HF or Craftsman. Cut to desired length and put screws on both ends to keep from falling off
