C/man hammer drill

Hey guys,

I have an old (@ 40 years) Craftsman hammer drill #315.18111. Yesterday, after drilling some holes, I tried to remove the drill bit. Well, when I inserted the key to loosen it, the toothed ring just spins ??? Looks like the chuck is broke. How do I remove the drill bit & maybe replace the chuck ?

I would think you would need a pair of large channel locks to get the drill bit out. Maybe a phillips svrewdriver and a channel lock or similier. The getting the chuck off by the reverse thread screw.

Some use Allen bolts on the chucks.
