    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Wow, I have an identical fan (220v version) in my workshop. Found it many years ago, got it going and it has done stirling duty every summer although cosmetically it now needs attention. I would be keen to hear how you refurbished yours. Now that i think of it, I should have a similar looking...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Phew! Made it to the end before page #300. I have learnt a lot. I too should have thought of Led lighting. I have also learnt about book binding, obscure tools, barn construction (mostly brick and concrete here), tool and equipment preservation and, most of all, what can be achieved if you keep...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Up to page 200 now and still almost another 100 to go. I am enjoying the discovery of all the old tools. Thank you Thomas and Chris.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

I have been reading this thread for 2 weeks now and still nearly 200 pages to go. This has come at the right time for me as my own place needs some serious sorting out so thanks Tom and Chris, your efforts make my task seem trivial. I now know what I should be doing with my motor memorabilia. I...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Apologies ckadams00, I should have been more specific. Reseda green is very close to Jack's tarragon green. Ask your local paint shop for a sample of RAL6011 (http://www.ralcolor.com/) their system should have the formulation.

    50's metal kitchen cabinets?

Using some locally made Krost cabinets in the workshop. They are being repainted this weekend

    Cabinet color help.

I have gone the Jack Olsen/european standard green route. I found that white was not very fingerprint and dirt friendly. Gloss colours show up any imperfections so now everything is going semi-gloss Reseda green.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

The first time I saw a green workshop was my mates Roland's workshop a few years ago. Being Swiss he does everything by the book (the Swiss rule book, that is) and, according to him Swiss workshop furniture is painted green. His workshop is minimalistic to say the least so I was never sure how...

Which affordable snap ring pliers are worth buying?

Knipex or Wurth (which are re-branded Knipex, I'm told) are sturdy and do not break or slip. Just get the appropriate one for your application. Most European made tools comply with DIN or ISO standards as do the circlips. If your application is non metric then get non metric pliers big enough to...

    Snap ring plier recommendations needed

Best I have used so far is Knipex (the chrome finish older type) although my Wurth (which I'm told is sourced and re-labeled from Knipex) is also good. Never had much luck with universal types with interchangable tips.
