    Shower head Search

Hi All, My shower head 'escutcheon' (for lack of a better term) rotted through on my old 1960's-70's shower. It's not just an escutcheon however, it's a functional piece that screws onto the water pipe coming out of the wall (very similar to the bath spout at the bottom), and then adapting...

    Planned Obsolescense

I had to open up the handset of a modern corded phone, and it was hilarious, they actually had a weight inside of it to make it feel heavier!

Did I get screwed by an ebay buyer

Why not take them to court? I would at least be having a lawyer sending threatening letters to try and scare them. $800 is a lot of money, and your case seems right for small claims. At least don't make it easy for them!

    "vintage" hinges?

Hi everyone, I know hinges aren't really that cool of a subject, but what can you guys tell me about these hinges? They say PAT 1967, does that mean that's when they were made, or is that just when they were patented? They're pretty much exactly the same size as any other door hinge, except...

Tiling Bathroom Floor, what about the toilet?

Yeah I know how to get it off but it will look just fine. And after we dry lay the tile to see for sure we can always still pull it if it will look better

Tiling Bathroom Floor, what about the toilet?

We weren't because they are going to get destroyed, and I've seen how tiled floors look over the baseboard and it looks good because the grout takes up the space nicely,we could still change our mind but now with the cement board in place it would be even harder to pull

Tiling Bathroom Floor, what about the toilet?

Thanks everyone so far, so should we tile right up to the hole?

Tiling Bathroom Floor, what about the toilet?

Hello, Where there's no plumbing section on this forum, I thought this would be the next closest match where my issue involves tiling. So as you can see in the pictures, we are preparing to tile the bathroom floor. The toilet has been removed in preperation for a new one (which a plumber will...

Mounting Ikea Godmorgon Vanity to a wall, no studs?

So thanks everyone, the issue with the 1x2 is that we really don't want wood strips extending out the sides of the vanity where the vanity is smaller than the distance of the studs. Right now we have one stud running down the center of where the vanity will be placed, we are going to screw it...

Mounting Ikea Godmorgon Vanity to a wall, no studs?

Thanks, have you used these before? It says on the site, they tested shear strength on concrete block, so any idea how they hold up in simple drywall? I can't imagine them holding all that weight for the long term. It's a good option though thanks

Mounting Ikea Godmorgon Vanity to a wall, no studs?

thanks, I edited my previous post and added a photo. We thought of doing what you suggested, but that would also mean a gap at the back of the vanity, which we would like to avoid if possible.

Mounting Ikea Godmorgon Vanity to a wall, no studs?

So after assembling the new vanity that's supposed to mount directly to the bathroom wall, we have run into a major issue. The mounting brackets are only 28.5 inches apart! If the wall studs are 16" on center how in the world does Ikea expect this thing to mount to the wall at 28.5"? The...
