Help with restoring my vintage toolbox!

I haven't repainted it. Just Rubbing Compound and wax. Paint is nice but the front of the drawers are faded compared to rest of box. It brought it to a shine but I guess I'm satisfied with it considering the cost to get it repainted. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

    Restoring My Vintage Matco Toolbox

Nice! I like that old school paint work on the top box. Your bottom box looks extremely similar to mine except my lock is still in its place. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

    Restoring My Vintage Matco Toolbox

Here's are some new pictures just taken. Here are the drawer pulls or handles, whichever way you call it. They each are bolted to the inside of the drawer with two very small bolts. I washed them, then scrubbed them with the Rubbing Compound and this Mag and Aluminum Polish. Then dried and...

    Restoring My Vintage Matco Toolbox

I appreciate the information about the coating! I will say, I didn't think it would cost THAT much so that opened my eyes up. BY THE WAY I live on the West Central border between MN and ND near Fargo, ND. I know there are plenty of professional businesses that do this kind of stuff there...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Here's my current situtation. I have an older Matco Toolbox. Threw it up on a forum about getting it sandblasted and powdercoated. Most guys told me not to so... Here's where I'm at. All drawers and box are washed and degreased. Currently here's where I'm at: flipped the box on its back. I've...

Help with restoring my vintage toolbox!

See how the drawers are faded and a bit more orange? That's why I want to paint it. Also, if it matters, I have no bills to pay myself so all money is expendable. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

Help with restoring my vintage toolbox!

The box in my original post is only the top piece. I have a much larger bottom rolling box to match! I will never end up "flipping" or selling this box. I'm the son of a grain farmer and will end up using it for decades to come. That is why I want to restore it entirely. Currently though, the...

Help with restoring my vintage toolbox!

I have recently acquired a nice vintage Matco Toolbox from an auction. My plans include having it sandblasted and powdercoated as close to original color as possible. Have any of you dealt with this? Any feedback concerning price to restore and amount of time it takes is much appreciated! Sent...

    Restoring My Vintage Matco Toolbox

Hey everybody I'm new here. So I've recently acquired a very nice Matco toolbox from a relatives auction. It is a two piece set, the one I'm questioning for now is in the picture. I want to get it sand blasted and powdercoated as close to the original reddish-orange as possible. My question I...
