    2013 Ford F-150 5.0L or 6.2? & Why?

Having owned both a Super Duty and an F150, if you don't NEED the capability of the big guy, get the half-ton. The F150 is much easier to live with, it drives and rides a whole hell of a lot better. Not to mention the mileage difference.

    2013 Ford F-150 5.0L or 6.2? & Why?

I bought a new F150 earlier this year and went with the 5.0. For me it came down to the Ecoboost or the 5.0; the EB is a great motor, but I prefer the sound of the V8, and the gas mileage difference really wasn't that big (15/21 vs. 16/22 in 2WD, 14/19 vs. 15/21 4WD). I strongly encourage you...

New member, new house, two garages!

Very nice garage, and very nice rides too. Would love to hear more about the GTO. I too have gone nuts with detailing stuff, but most of mine comes from Griots. It's enough to fill 2 Gladiator 30" wall cabinets.

Do you build rather than buy a workbench?

I have both. One is an 8' Gladiator bench that I bought, the other is a 7' that I built. The one that I built is technically superior in just about every way, but at the time I needed something quick, and the Gladiator fit the bill. Simpson strong ties are your friend. I used them for all...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Here's a picture I didn't know my wife had taken. I had just hit my head on something and cursed, and our pointer was very eager to help (notice the tail-wag blur):

How many ratchets do you own?

Re: How many ratchets do you own ? I have...6. 4 in my toolbox in the garage (1 1/4", 2 3/8" and 1 1/2"), and 1 each in my truck and car tool kits. The only reason I have 2 3/8" ratchets in my garage is because you can't get the ratchet off the tensioner when you pull the serpentine belt off...

    Attached 2-car, nothing special...

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. Nate: for starters, the top and bottom boxes are blue, it's only the one in the middle one that's black. :) My local Sears stopped carrying the blue boxes when I needed to expand, and I was too cheap to pay the extra shipping, so now I have a...

    Attached 2-car, nothing special...

So, I've been busy lately out in the garage. First up, the little bench under the window: It's still the Lowes modular shelving special, but now with stained oak shelves and doors to hide the oil change equipment. We also upgraded to a proper Blu Ray player for the living room, so I was...

    Keeping the Wife Happy....

This project cracks me up. You know you could have also just helped out more with the laundry and cleaning duties, right? :bounce: But, I like the build. Good work so far.

Tell me how much my new truck *****

Hey bud, I have an '08 crew cab LTZ, 2WD with the Vortec Max 6-liter. Coming up on 50K miles in a little over 3 years (got it 5/08). Overall, I've been fairly happy with it. It's been more than adequate for my needs, which has included towing a 26-foot boat. It's very comfortable, easy for...

    Jaguar Garage That Once Was

This garage was featured in the first "Ultimate Garages" book. Very impressive collection, it's a shame to hear of the owner's passing.

Very cool truck. I saw the Banks sticker, figured you had some goodies on it. I didn't realize your CTS was a V, I'm jealous. I'm trying to talk my wife into getting a V wagon in a few years to replace her Equinox, I think the ice might be melting. :bounce: I'll get another square body...

Very nice! I like your Suburban too, what are the details on it? I had an '87 1-ton (former Louisiana DOT truck) that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, I've always had a soft spot for that body style.
