Agreed -- the super basic "homeowner" stuff they sell is awful. I wouldn't pay $50.00 for it. I have a "Quiet Glide" box and a couple CMan ball bearing chests and they're great for what I need as a hobbyist, home mechanic. They feel waaaaay better and are much sturdier than the basic stuff...
That does looks nice, but it's still almost 3 times what I paid for mine that is 25x69 and more than double the cost of the Sears one that is 24x96 :dunno:
You can get butcher block tops from a few places in a few different sizes and thicknesses. Lista, Edsal and many other places make them for what I feel is insane amounts of money.
The best deals I found were from Sears and IKEA. The Sears ones are on sale right now so like, $120 for the 8' one...
I work literally 500 feet away from the Leatherman factory -- I should go over there one day at lunch and see if they have factory 2nds there or anything.
