Found a sad Wilton vise today.

Well I made some progress breaking it down. And I have some parts that are in great shape but this thing is way seized up. I think a week of penetration oil will be a decent start. Thanks for all the great ideas, I am onboard with machining it down and making a new top jaw piece. And yes I...

Found a sad Wilton vise today.

Digging through a junk pile I found this old Wilton vise today. It’s fairly obvious why it was junked but I have always wanted an old Wilton bullet vise to try to “restore”. Any chance I could do a build up weld and use it for lighter duty stuff or am I crazy to try? Sent from my iPhone using...

    Peg board hooks

I just ordered the Presa PS41002-25PK Metal Peg Board Shelving Hooks from amazon last month. I was very impressed with the quality for the price They are true 1/4" and seem very stout. I will get around to ordering the 6" ones soon. Can't post the URL yet but they are easy to find on amazon.

    The repurposing thread

This thread is great! I'll Play. Repurposed utility poles salvaged after an ice storm, steel trusses left over from another project, steel r panels salvaged from a neighbor's barn with minor hail damage (still have enough for the walls...eventually), and about 90% salvaged lumber.

New to me barn needs "bright" ideas

Hey guys I have been lurking around for a long time but this is my first time posting. I am in the process of buying a new home with a 30x50x14 steel pole barn after working with a dirt floor garage for the last few years. The previous owner has already gone to the trouble of wiring up 12 lamp...
