There's a lot more to doing this than just throwing up lights.
You need to know what else is on the circuit (from the panel breaker) not just the switch. You need to do a load calculation to see if what's on the circuit, plus what you want to add will be supportable and legal.
The poster above...
Just like a good government setup. Want to try "save" the taxpayers money when they know nothing about what they're doing and could end up "costing" way more than is "saved" when all is said and done.
I can pick off a number of code violations in that box.
If your contractor was even willing to consider covering the wiring with tape and mud you'd better be looking for a new contractor!
If I were talking to your contractor and he were telling me he had a customer suggesting this, I'd be telling him to get a better customer! Run....fast.
I charge $1300 to install a 200 amp panel. And that's just up a side of the building to the coonection point. Customer is responsible for any additional overhead or underground charges.
Pay the man & move on! He's cutting you a deal....
They are great engines. I put one on a little craftsman generator several years ago. Starts within 2 pulls every time.
And $99 is the price for that unit right now.
Went to both of ours here. Out of stock, but the employee told me they have 24 on order expected to arrived soon. Hmmmm......if it's clearanced, why would it show an order?
Again, the OP stated he would only be using the saw for weekend warrior projects. While the cabinet and unisaws are nice, they are WAY overkill for what is desired.
Let's help get this guy into something that's appropriate to his needs.....
PT 2x4 joists spaced 12-16" on center over 2 to 3 4x4's running lengthwise is more than adequate support for a shed frame sitting on the ground or gravel. Using 2x8's is just plain overbuilding it and adding cost. Use 3/4" decking and you'll have no problems holding mowers, power equipment, etc.
I'm a professional contractor. I currently have a Bosch but have owned a Rigid & Craftsman in the past.
If you're planning on spending +/- $500, I'd definitely stay away from that craftsman and buy the Bosch or Rigid portables. Way better saw for the same $$$.
However, I also agree if you're...
Thanks for the welcome.
Man, I just can't get over how much stuff is in here.
My wife doesn't like all the time I'm spending on the computer. I've had to start sneaking around using my Android too!
