    Old OTC porta power kit

Just picked this kit up. Doing some research makes me think its 1950's or 60's. The cylinder is a 20 ton capacity, and the kit all told weighs well over 100 lbs. No pump came with it, but I have several hand and electric operated ones. Do any of you fellow collectors have an old Owatonna...

    Heavy workbench build

Thanks! I hate casters on workbenches. I'll move this thing around with my skid steer as needed. I think most people who build these heavy benches already have equipment or cranes to move them. The folks who lack the equipment are building much lighter tables. Unfortunately, drilling and...

Nice bench! I like the docking station for your mobile work table!

    Heavy workbench build

I might paint the C3 in the same dark grey. I thought about a lower shelf, but they just collect junk (at least for me). I will add some heavy gussets, and some feet to the bottom of the legs, but I'm not sure that it will break a ton!

    Heavy workbench build

Thanks! Yes, the C-series is about the best you can find for something that will get used and abused. This particular one spent a decade on the bumper of a service truck, before finally seizing from a lack of maintenance, and getting tossed! I was able to rescue it from the dumpster, and with a...

    Heavy workbench build

Finally built my new work bench/fab table. I picked up the plate as surplus a few years back, and finally had the time to turn it into a table. Here's some details: -1" thick 4x8 Hardox 500 top -6" pipe legs -5" channel sub frame -32" high -1600 lbs -Wilton C3 (another 200 lbs!) Still need to...

15/45 degree wrench vs 30/60 degree wrench?

Yeah, tried that. Our company spends millions, literally, with our local Cat dealer every year, and they still said they can't warranty the tools.

15/45 degree wrench vs 30/60 degree wrench?

I have been completely unable to warranty Cat branded tools. I'm told they need to be warrantied through a Snap On industrial line dealer, different than the regular snap on dealers, and far more scarce.

Just picked up a Snap On 1" drive set...

Wow, thanks for the great info!

Just picked up a Snap On 1" drive set...

...and have a couple questions. I've been unable to get the Collecting Snap On web page to work, but figured someone here might have the answers. It's the chrome set, not impacts, with sockets from 1-7/16 12pt up to 3-1/8 6pt, a sliding tee handle, a couple extensions, a couple adapters, and...

Powermatic 1200 auction ending soon... what to do?

I have a 1200 I picked up in a local auction for maybe $450. Worth every penny. Smooth, power to spare, very heavy duty. If you have any use for a drill press, that one is worth jumping through a couple hoops for.

Info on Snap On KRA276D puller cabinet

Thanks for the help, guys. That answers my question. Now, do I want to drill into my hutch to hang it there?

Info on Snap On KRA276D puller cabinet

Can anyone tell me, or better - post pictures! - of how the KRA276 puller cabinets attach to another box? I'm going to be filling in and completing a complete CJ2000 set, and am considering the wall cabinet. I would like to hang it from the back side of the hutch on an 84" Epiq, and don't know...
