    Lets see your workbench

I went from this old built in workbench that came with the garage: To this a few months ago: Workbench tops were from the old office desk systems from the front office at work with built frames. The filing cabinet drawers on the right are nicely sized for storing what needs stored. Went...

Tools for a Mechanical Engineering Student?

Good on you for getting him something to remember the internship by. I get the desire to give something that will be cherished forever and dials fit that bill better than digitals. For practical use, as an engineer working in a production environment on equipment of mixed SAE/Metric, I find...

    US-Made Tape Measures?

I suspect the above post about the Klein is probably right after looking at the Epstein one you posted....USTape Maybe I'll give a couple more a shot - I gave away the last ones to a coworker to take home for his 9 year old to play with.

    US-Made Tape Measures?

Looking for a decent quality tape measure. Have traditionally used Lufkin 2312: Lufkin has discontinued and replaced with the P2312: Which is essentially the same tape with some little details that make it less desirable - the case has been been made more modern looking, which has made it...

Looking for a good bench top tool box

If you are looking to make an investment in a quality box that will stand up to the abuse of daily use and you get a good discount from the Snap-On man, I'd take a look at their hand boxes. Theirs...not Bluepoint. http://store.snapon.com/METAL-BOXES-C629524.aspx I have this one...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Tandem cables and bulk bought shifter and brake housing and ferules. Buy actual cable/housing cutters or use a cutoff grinder.

    Durable tool box

for moving around in a facility when you might have to get into tighter spots/aisle, you might consider making your frame with 6 casters, with the middle ones being taller. put two rigids in the middle and the other four swivels. You could either use 6" rigids and 5" swivels or all 5" and use...

    Durable tool box

I would look into the Kennedy Maintenance Pro boxes. When I was shopping for a cab for our maintenance mechanic in our 180,000 sq ft facility. Ended up making a cart for him with pnuematic wheels and used a side box by Proto.

Lets see your Tool Carts/Service Carts

it was perfectly good - actually it was a return from a tradeshow that was midwinter and it had gotten repacked in a large crate with several cases of soda that were used for display props in the booth....seems a couple days in a trailer froze/exploded them and covered it in a thick goo. I...

Lets see your Tool Carts/Service Carts

Need to get a better picture, but I took a cart from work that was headed for the scrap pile, put a 4 Drawer Waterloo Trax intermediate on the mid shelf and doubled up and bolted 3/4" plywood for a top. Need to do some more modifications and post some more pics.
