    2 Post Lift Location

Center vs offset lift placement is a personal preference. A valid case can be made for or against each location. What it boiled down to for me was not wanting the lift to obstruct most of the usable space in my shop. Keeping two full length and width bays was very important for me, so I opted...

    2 Post Lift Location

I have a Dannmar 2 post Asymetric in my 36x40 pole barn shop. It is a 10ACX model, which is wider between the columns. My is located as follows, 20inches from edge of 4x6 post {pole barn} or 25 1/2 inches to edge of slab from outermost edge of lift base plate. The lift is 15 1/2 ft. off of the...

Have not posted in awhile. I have been slowly pecking away at the barn. Concrete is done, and I am currently insulating the walls and hanging interior sheeting.

I will try to post some updates in the next couple of days. Exterior of barn is finished, but I ran out of warm weather and did not get my concrete floor in. Starting around March or April I am going to hit it hard and get the concrete floor, insulation, and metal interior walls and ceiling...

I ended up with 50 or so tons of number 12's, and 120 tons of premium fill sand in my building. I do not have one piece of flat ground on my property, so even with cutting some of my site down, I still ended up with 5 ft of fill in part of my building. I put it in in 4 inch lifts with my tractor...

Another productive day today. I had a 20 ton load of premium fill delivered to fine tune the grade inside of the barn, I spread about 14 tons of it inside the building and stockpiled the rest to use for the approach to my garage doors. Later on we got all the walls sheeted with 1/2 inch osb for...

I backed the trailer up to each post hole, then slid them down the trailer deck until they were tipped in the hole. Then i just got on the opposite end, lifted them up and walked them up and in. The 4x6x16s were not to bad, but those 6x6x16 corner post were pretty heavy to do alone, but I was...

Not all of the equipment is mine in the pics, I own the chevy pickup, car trailer, and blue 27hp compact tractor with loader. I am very fortunate to have friends and neighbors willing to swap favors. They are the ones who own the track loader, post hole digger, and 555 ford back hoe. I am a...

I have been a member here for awhile but have not posted much. For a couple of years i have been planning my pole barn/shop/man cave. I ended up having to purchase a vacant 5 acre parcel next door to my house and consolidate it into my existing lot to meet zoning requirements. This was a huge...

    32x48 ultimate fab shop!

Wow! That is one nice shop that you have built. I am planning a 30x48x14 that i will build this summer. If you dont mind me asking, how much did the attic trusses add to the cost of the building over conventional trusses. Seeing your upstairs has made me consider doing the same to mine.
