    Toolbox in Woodshop

Thanks for the input guys. I have dust collection that I use regularly (main dust collector as well as festool extractors at handheld tools) which helps greatly but there is always some dust no matter what. It sounds like I'm overthinking it and it may not be a big problem. Thanks!

    Toolbox in Woodshop

I'm sure some of you are in this position so I'm curious what works best for you. I'm going to be moving my mechanics roll away tool box (larger top and bottom cabinets with flip up top lid) into my woodworking shop as I'm clearing out the garage so we can actually park a car in there). I'm...

New Garage - Lean-To Design Question

Thought I'd attached a few photos of my barn with the lean-to as I designed it. Just for reference.

    Deck Advice Requested

Thank you all. I like the idea of the spacers between the ledger and the house and I have a good idea on joist/beam sizing now.

    Deck Advice Requested

Let me start off by saying I both understand this isn't a deck building forum, nor are most of you structural engineers. With that said, I'd solicited a lot of good advice here previously when building my garage/barn so I figured I'd come back and pick your brains on this. I have a log cabin...

    Salvaging Tools from a Fire

Yes that is my guess- but I assume that the insurance company sold or gave the goods to this seller (who runs a disposal company of sorts).

    Salvaging Tools from a Fire

Well I think I’ve talked myself out it but mostly because I don’t want to make the drive. There are 7 bandsaws (one Powermatic without a motor and base) and the two drill presses. Yes the $15k is for everything. If everything “just” needed a cleaning and oiling I could profit a few grand...

    Salvaging Tools from a Fire

I'm an honest guy so any buyer from me would get the full story. The seller's asking price is $2,800 for $15,000 worth of equipment (new condition).

    Salvaging Tools from a Fire

Hello! I have the opportunity to buy a decent size lot of tools at a great price. Seller appears to deal with disposal of items regularly and got his hands on this lot (insurance claim buyout of however that works). Anyway- the lot consists of several new bandsaws and drill presses. I have...

    Dewalt 7500/10000 Electric Heater

Yes- agree that mounting up high isn’t optimal but I’m worried about tripping over it or something flammable inadvertently being leaned in front of it in the ground by me or my kids. It’s working fine so far but probably won’t be my permanent solution.

    Dewalt 7500/10000 Electric Heater

Looking at the electrical schematic for the heater I'm reading it as the fan motor is always on as long as the main switch is on. Correct?

    Dewalt 7500/10000 Electric Heater

An update- just because. Heater is wired and functions just fine. The thermostat seems to function fine on it for my needs- however the downside is that the fan doesn't seem to shut off when the thermostat kicks the heater off, so the fans runs all the time. If I stick with this setup I may...

    Dewalt 7500/10000 Electric Heater

Ha but of course. Its nearly finished now- all the walls are in and the paneling is up, just have to button the ceiling up yet.

    Dewalt 7500/10000 Electric Heater

So I came upon a free Dewalt 7500/10000w electric heater I'd like to use in my 700sft woodshop with vaulted ceilings (10' to 14'). I have the correct 50a circuit run with 6ga wire and plan to mount the heater at about 9' from the floor on a shelf above my door so the heater points towards the...
