I bough a Matco 4s box that was manufactured in September of 2016. Unfortunately the metal on the inside and bottom is starting to rust, what's even worse is the matco tool box plant manager knows they rust and sells them like that.....
The first five pics are my box and the areas affected. The...

My dad, whose been a mechanic for 32 years and has taught me everything I know told me, "If you borrow a tool twice buy your own". I would keep a note of what I borrow if I were you. I still do that. Don't spend all your money on a box at first. I had a free craftsman box as my first box, filled...
You lucky dog........ Try soaking them in ATF overnight. Did that with a completely rusted SO impact socket I found under the hood of car one time, it worked well for me.
Oh ****, we got another SO junkie. SO ratchets are the best. The only ratchets comparable are the axis ratchets from mac. My first ratchet was a SO fhlf80 that my dad gave me when I turned 18. That ratchet hooked me, still use it every day 7 years later and it was rebuilt once last year.
Not only is that chipping an F.O.D risk, it also makes the metal more susceptible to rust. The purpose of chrome finishing on tools, besides looking nice, is to protect the metal from rust. With that chipping on your ratchet it will eventually rust. I would trade it in asap. If it was my mac guy...
The hf ratcheting double box end wrenches are awesome. The last 4 in the picture. I have used them everyday for almost 2 years. I hate to say it, but the action in the hf wrenches are smoother than the matco ones, which I paid 20x more for. HF doesn't make a 18x16mm double box end...
Thanks for the link! I hope that guy makes a videos where he modifies a HF battery to work on dewalt. IDK for how cheap those batteries are, might have to hack one up myself:D.
Get an Ingersoll rand 244. Heavy, but strong. I have the matco version, which I call a matcosol rand. It hasn't let me down for 2 years. You go on Amazon you can get am IR 244 for less than $200 US. If your busting wheels off you don't need anything fancy. I save the fancy stuff for 3/8 and 1/4...
I really want to know if the Hercules 20 volt battery is compatible with dewalt 20 volt max tools. The 20v max battery and Hercules 20v battery look exactly the same. A 5.0ah batter from harbor freight is 50 bucks. That is pretty cheap compared to the dewalt 5.0ah batteries. I would be all...
I've seen my SO dealer take a grip off my ratchet by putting in a vise and hitting the handle with a punch, one he got the handle off he put the new one on by hitting with a big dead blow hammer a few times. Those handles take some effort to put on or take off. If it slips off, something is wrong.
Water + air tools= no bueno. Just throw them away. If you got one to work see if you can trade it for a better with one the tool trucks. Some times if you give them broken tools when there's a promotion for new tools they'll give you 100 bucks towards something new.
I have the matco dual piston compressor, same as lisle but rebranded. I personally prefer a ratcheting caliper press, I have one from blue point. I find the piston compressor is hard on the hands if you're busting out brake jobs all day. The ratcheting caliper press is easier on the hands. The...
