Just picked up a never used SO XLE605, set lists for $229 but snatched it up for $50. Looking for ideas to clean up the slight surface rust without harming the chrome finish...I was thinking Mother's Mag Wheel Polish and then some car wax, but any help is appreciated.

Nice buy. I use PB blaster and a rag, It works for me. It really depends on how deep the rust got into it. If your not happy I'll give ya $55. Good luck!

Nice buy.

Kroil on a rag works wonders. It's the only way to keep tools on my
Service truck from rusting and removing the rust. The metal boxes on service trucks ***** for condensation

You lucky dog........ Try soaking them in ATF overnight. Did that with a completely rusted SO impact socket I found under the hood of car one time, it worked well for me.

Get the wrenches damp and rub with the shiny side of aluminum foil, it will not harm or scratch the chrome at all. Many of the mag wheel cleaners I see recommend against using the product on chrome
