Medical clamps can be quite useful. You can usually find them on eBay or flea markets for a few bucks. Please note: I'm talking about the cheap ones (usually made in Pakistan or India), surgical ones can run a few hundred dollars. There is a GJ thread here...

Are wheel weights pure/(close to pure) lead? Don't know, just asking.

I believe the current spot price of lead is about $0.90/lb. Scrap yards here (New Jersey) pay around $0.55/lb. Around 2007-2008 the spot price was between $1.40 and $1.60/lb.

I see what you mean about the jaw area. I was thinking you could wedge the tip of the Allis just beyond the end of the hose and pull out. Basically, the tip of the Allis would pinch onto the connector not the line. Not sure if I'm describing this right. Like I said, the price range runs into...
