Hello, I am wondering what some neat/useful tools I could get for $10. I got nothing in particular, just interested in buying something useful or cool.

Some people won't agree, but I would say cruise the harbor freight website.. Long handles pliers, hose pliers, hose picks, files, the $8 pro screwdriver set(awesome), composite ratchets(awesome again), stubby ratchets... The list goes on...

Under $10 retail doesn't usually buy high quality tools except small items or accessories at most non-HF stores. Free HF stuff like tarps, gloves, magnetic bowls make up most of my HF inventory. The GJ Lowes Clearance thread on super deals=not retail make up most of my sub $10 tools that I would never have bought: twisted wrenches, socket rails, Wiss snips, etc. If you really want the sub $10 stuff then HF is the place to go.

They may be gimmicky but I like using the kobalt double drive drivers sometimes,i replaced our cabinet drawer pulls and it made quick work of it...they should be around ten bucks at least that's what I would pay(Christmas gift)

Agreed. - but I would also add that any time you go to Harbor Freight, always have a coupon for something free (like a multimeter, tape measure, magnetic tray or tarp) and also have a 25% off coupon! - I never visit Harbor Freight without both!

I know this is twice as much as you want to spend but Stream light Stylus Pro's are great tools and extremely useful everywhere. If not then you can check craigslist for used small items such as pocket knives or flashlights, screwdrivers, anything of that sort.

Has anyone had any luck with the free multimeters? The ones that I have tried all seem to have intermittent connections either in the leads or the inside the meter.

I have a couple of folding utility knives. The blade and blade holder fold closed like a jack knife and the blades are basic utility knife razors.

One I have was a free promotional item and my wife brought one home from Ocean State Job lot for $2.99 that came with 10 replacement blades.

I use them all the time. I keep them in the trunk of each car. Never really had a problem except dead batteries. Nice to have when you don't want to leave a more expensive one in the car.

They're made by Pratt-Read. You can get the PR version on Amazon but they're a little more expensive.

As long as the shaft doesn't spin in the handle or pull out there worth the extra money. Can't stand when they do that ****.

For $10.00 dollars the world is your oyster as they say and I am not talking about the dreck you can buy today. Just this week I picked up an L.S. Starrett machinist 8" outside caliper for $7.50 and trust me when I say brand new you don't even want to know the price...

Start hitting your local CL and garage sales your $10.00 dollars will buy you some amazing tools!
