    Show me your ANVIL

Absolutely... Mine is a 100# Trenton that dates to 1906. It is marked accordingly, and bears the Trenton mark - and then was later struck 'ACME' (Sears Roebuck) directly over the Trenton logo... Both Hay Budden and Trenton fulfilled the ACME anvil offerings for Sears. If i had to guess as to...

Porcelain tile in the man cave

That is the most creative use of spare/off-season tires i have ever seen. I look forward to seeing how your floor comes out. Your color scheme is nice! Really like that blue... ~Tejaas~

    Show me your ANVIL

I have a 1906 Trenton with an ACME overstrike, if you'd like a photo for your database. I actually enamel filled it, so it photographs easy. ~Tejaas~

    Good, local wire crimpers

As far as strippers, i'd really suggest a standalone/designated stripper... I too have yet to see a combo tool worth a damn. I personally hate the typical automatic strippers, and much prefer the self-adjusting/clamping/pressure twist style strippers with replaceable inserts... Perfect...

    Good, local wire crimpers

If you value quality, and would humor ordering online as 'local' - I'd highly recommend treating yourself to the absolute best of the best. Tyco/Raychem environmental splices, and DMC GMT232 crimpers.... These are a ratcheting crimper and would fulfill your desire for one-handed operation...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Where did you get the gray shelving units in the background of your first photo? They don't appear to be the flimsy box store types...? Are the shelves steel-topped, or plywood inserts? ~Tejaas~

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

What did you do "IN" your garage today? I typically go to local marine suppliers... Online, I'd probably go with West Marine. ~Tejaas~

    Lesser known Knipex tools

Thanks for this tip. I've always bought my Knipex and Wera stuff from KC Tool Co. Crawford appears to have them beat by a mile. ~Tejaas~

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

What did you do "IN" your garage today? Cool beans. Never seen a vidmar/lista topped with a "nonscratch" surface. I have 4 armory lockers that i lined with marine grade carpet, as well as in the drawers of all my vidmars. Best drawer linings i ever used. Crappy example photos...

Harbor Freight paper towel holder mod

I didn't know those red HF pieces were for paper towel rolls for the longest time! Where i used to work every box had 6 or 8 of the halves on the back of their boxes to hold air hose whips. Other than the 44" boxes, I'm pretty sure the only thing from HF in both my shops are a bunch of the...

    Why buy 12-point sockets?

Yes sir, i too use/used (often modified) 12pt for rotorcraft filter bowls, chip detectors, thermistor housings, temp transducers, drain/grease plugs etc. ~Tejaas~

    Why buy 12-point sockets?

+1. I used 12pt SAE almost exclusively on military rotorcraft. At home, I have both 6 & 12 - and typically reach for the 12pt first. ~Tejaas~
