I have 2 M18 impacts I use for everything. The size has been an issue on some recent projects and have been eyeing the M12 compact or subcompact drivers for interior automotive work and the like. If I can't come up with an excuse beforehand I'll scoop one up during the Black Friday sales.
The bare frame ended up sitting outside over the winter so it had a nice layer of surface rust unfortunately. Which fortunately is perfect for POR15. Added their chassis black topcoat over that. Should be plenty durable to sit out in the elements. We will see.
Map gas will struggle on a big heat sink, but if you're just trying to defeat loctite you only need to get the fastener hot enough to melt the loctite. I would weld the nut on and then hit it with some the map gas to get it hotter and give it a twist.
If you’re not paying for the product, you are the product.
I thought the one about Gen X was pretty accurate. Very much mirrored my brother and I’s life growing up.
Primeweld and HTP are two import brands worth considering. They are different price points with HTP being more equivalent to an industrial machine. They have some mig machines that can run aluminum without a spool gun if that is of interest to you.
If you want to run 3/8 plate somewhat often...
Milwaukee has a lot of logic built into their batteries and likely have a minimum temp to charge. Per their literature they don’t recommend charging below 40 F.
I keep mine in the garage at 45 over the winter and try to warm them before charging.
15% off at Zoro. Not a screaming deal but good chance to get those items that aren't on sale/special very often. Ordered a transfer pump and some 12.0 AH forge batteries for work today.
Thanks for the follow up. Got my hopes up for a minute there but the battery rebate isn't part of the Professional/retailer rebates.
I did check and they are definitely part of that rebate program, so there is a chance for future options
