Is there a "color code" to fiberglass ladders?

I don't think there is a true color code, but most 300# one's I have run across have been orange. We have a light duty one that is blue, the same rating as another one that is green. If this is going to be your personal ladder you use on jobs with many other trades .. get a Green Bull. They...

Who Should I get to make this?

Actually, it is you, who is coming across as a pompus *** with this reply. Nowhere in Wes' reply did I see any disparaging remarks, only honest questions and such. What even makes you think Wes is a wet, behind the ears college kid anyway? Who say's he's not a 50 year old, third major...

S-K pictorial history: Post your logo's!

I grew up with SK wrenches and sockets. Dad bought a full set of 1/2" drive sockets and combo wrenches from 7/16 - 1 1/16 when he left home to go work in upper New York in probably 1953 or somewhere close after. I cracked one of the sockets in the late 90's and took it to an auto parts store...

Farm auction today Nice vise, old Snap On

I grew up going to farm auctions. It was more a social event than anything else, back then. Looks like this one was a good one.

    I feel surrounded by tools!!!

Grats on the new toys. If you take care of them, they will last you a lifetime. I still have craftsman wrenches I got for Christmas back in the 80's when I was your age. :)

Klyuch is key. However, it's what they also call a wrench. My wife is Russian.

    Indestro ratchet wrench

Saw this today at a pawn shop, first I'd seen from them. One end was broken and just spun, so left it. Got me to thinking about which companies have made them over the years. My uncle gave my Dad the first set I ever saw back in the late 70's. I don't remember who made them, but they were...

Im in the market for some new boots...

White's are very good, but pricey on the initial cost. I have a pair I picked up in a deal I made for a pair of gaff's, climbing belt, and boots. Very high tops, and heavy lug soles. Nice quality boots, but since they weren't mine from the outset, they don't fit me just right. Wore them...

    Vise value question

That's what I'd like to get this one for, as I can't really afford any more than that. The fella said $350 was his lowest price, though. Course, he's been trying to sell it for over a month now, so one never knows.

    Proto tools

Lot's of Proto here in east TX, figure from the oilfields. Can find them in most any pawn shop. Picked up several sockets for .15 - .25 each, and wrenches for around a buck apiece recently.

    Vise value question

Re: Vice value question Well, this is said to be an 8x8 machinist vise. In looking on the Wilton site, they don't make an 8x8 machinist that I find. I asked, and was told it was an enclosed body with pipe jaws. So, in the catalog I found a tradesman 8x7, model 1780A. Without a picture, it's...

Tool cases for protable electric power tools

I'm an electrician and I hate cases. I can store my drill, sawzall, skilsaw, two lights, vacuum, and impact driver in my toolbox in half the area of a case.
