Is there a "color code" to fiberglass ladders?

Just curious - in the market for a Type 1A fiberglass 8ft step ladder, leaning towards Werner.

Werner seems to make their Type 1 in blue, Type 1A in orange and Type 1AA in yellow, but that might just be a coincidence on the Home Depot website.

I've seen green fiberglass ladders, as well.

Googling around, there's a few unsubstantiated claims of a color coding, either of the ladder itself, or of the ladder cap (which I've seen in yellow and black on fiberglass ladders).

Such claims are said to be an OSHA thing, so they can quickly/easily see what rating a ladder is.

Sounds equally plausible and dubious, but I'm not finding anything that officially backs it up. Was just curious if anyone here was familiar with anything like that.

I don't think there is a true color code, but most 300# one's I have run across have been orange. We have a light duty one that is blue, the same rating as another one that is green.

If this is going to be your personal ladder you use on jobs with many other trades .. get a Green Bull. They are twice as heavy in weight as both Werner and Louisville .. no one will like it, hence no one will want to "borrow" it just for a second over here. :)
