    Small garage storage ideas

We did that in our attic when we built the house, the builder very nicely upgraded the joists for the load, then decked part of it out, and even left extra plywood for more decking. Now to turn the attic stairs around...

How can some of you guys tolerate a cluttered shop?

I'm sorry, you are not allowed to use the term "lazy" in association with you or your shop, ever. Edit: for some reason, I can't get strikethrough letters to work...

How can some of you guys tolerate a cluttered shop?

TSRH. And laziness. Lots of laziness. And don't forget the "anthropological" organizational method: the older it is, the deeper it is. Super-simple method, goes to hell when the S.O. decides to "clean up", or some ****-retentive cook goes postal and puts the tools in the dishwasher, and...

    The Cost of Storage

The only problem with this is, when I toss something like that, I will almost IMMEDIATELY need it shortly after tossing. This is a perfect example of Murphy's Law; and that motherfvkker lives on my shoulder!! :shocking:

    Jack Stand Storage

Great storage method, but what gives with the butcher-block bases on those things??? Is he afraid he's gonna scratch the floor??? :wtf:

    Small garage storage ideas

:wtf: do you live in Death Valley under a giant magnifying glass??? I live in DFW, with heat as ferocious as it gets in summer; and the ONLY garage-based fires started by cars that I ever heard of were the '97-'04 F150's that went up because of a faulty cruise-control cutout switch under the...

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

It should be fine, the countersprings should be adjusted to balance the doors, not allow them to lift versus hold in place or fall. I'm givin' a pair of  for them, excellent units.

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

By the way, Paul: do you have pics or drawings of how you've laid your garage out?? Sicne you've got the same problem I have, I assume you've got to put both cars in as well, and that means any workbench space is nil, not to mention storage, and i'd love to see how you work around it. Again...

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

Good job on the ceiling lift. To clear some more space (for that pesky SUV, of course!), you could use a jackshaft garage door opener. I got a pair from Liftmaster, that are excellent units, and were able to lift 16'x8' doors very easily, and had a number of nice features. This way, you'll...
