So, I have several outbuildings with multiple exterior fixtures, I also have multiple runs of landscape lights on different LV transformers plugged into different receptacles. I know there are "smart" systems that have switches and receptacles that can talk to each other over long distances, do...

Can I use Oscillating Multi-Tool to cut tree roots?

I use a mattock (sharpened with a grinder), works great. I feel like there is a lot more control and power when using a mattock instead of an axe.

    Arc fault breakers

I'm having issues with electronic ballasts (for low voltage can lights) on a AFCI, not all the time, just every now and then. After googling about the issue, I have found my situation is not uncommon.

Boxes for outside lights and cameras? In walls or soffit?

I used the round aluminum weather proof boxes, with a flat weather proof, flat, blank cover. I mounted the cameras to the cover and screwed the cover to the boxes. Nice neat look with no exposed wires.

    Portable Heater for Cabin Garage

I'm assuming you don't have natural gas, next option would be propane. If you have access to firewood you could do a wood fired furnace or boiler. Kerosene is also an option, but they tend to put a lot of moisture in the air.

Deep Well, installing shut off valve before pressure switch.

I was on the interweb trying to learn a little about deep well cycle stop valves, as I was looking at photos of various installation jobs I noticed a lot of setups have their main shut off valves before (upstream) the pressure switch, isn't this a bad thing to have? I would think, if someone...

    2 hots and 1 neutral?

He is from North East Illinois, most likely his circuit is in conduit serving as his ground, that's probably why he didn't mention a ground wire.
