    What are you **** about?

Well this thread is either therapeutic or just proof we are all in the right forum. Absolutely agree with most of the ones discussed so far including shirts hung facing the same way and bills in denominations largest to smallest. Though I also place them from most to least "crisp" so that in...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

That looks fantastic! Great work 80WTI_55_CHEV.

Post Pictures of any vehicles/tools/equipment or projects you worked on recently

Doing general cleanup last weekend and figured I'd quickly wipe down my reloading press. As you can see, that plan did not survive first contact. The ram was seized up and I started to troubleshoot it and the indexer in the center of the shell plate was frozen. Tried the usual suspects...

    Eagle One "NEVR-DULL"

Always have a can of NevRDull on the "elixir" shelf with its cousins, Flitz and Brasso. Been using all of them for a long time.

What are/(were) your most USELESS tools?

Glad I'm not the only one who detests the Craftsman ratcheting wrenches. Seemed useful, but every time I put one to work, and I mean EVERY TIME, that little plastic plunger thingy fails to engage/disengage and I end up trying to coax the wrench into doing the sole job it exists for, but can't...

    Scrapping everything

Hey Thumper hope you don't mind if I swindle your wire stripper design::lol: While I certainly don't make the kind of $$$ you do, I have been scrapping stuff that collects up and make trips to the yard about once a month. Super convenient too since it's near my office so I can do it at lunch...

I value your opinion- what pocket knife are you carrying?

Been carrying a Boker for quite a while but just recently bought a Kershaw Cryo. Very well built and sturdy and the assist open is quick. Will be my EDC until I get a bug for the next knife... But for under $30, this Kershaw is tough to beat.

    woodworking

Like stuey said, in NYC there simply has to be more than one school around. Check your local community colleges, adult ed, industrial arts and parks and rec for woodworking classes. There is more than likely a "tech shop" sort of place where you pay a day fee and can use their machines to...

    Hanging License Plates

I use this white plastic edge banding that is normally used to cover the edges of plastic wall panels like in public restrooms. I get it at HD in the moulding and trim aisle for like $2 for an 8' piece. Cut to size, staple to the wall then slide the plates in the "track" I like this approach...

    walker floor jack restoration

Fantastic work fireman. Been enjoying this thread immensely. Like others here, I enjoy refurbing vintage machinery and am always glad to know there are others out there who are likewise afflicted. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail are to be admired. Keep the Picts coming...

Rust removal ... Table saw and jointer

+1 on the WD-40 and Scotchbrite pad. Have plenty of paper towels or shop rags handy to clean up the brown slurry it creates. And for sure wear gloves unless you enjoy the spam smell of WD-40 in your skin... I follow up with a good wipedown with denatured Alcohol. Then finish up with the...

    Auto Detailing question

I use Stoner's Trim Shine on both interior and exterior. Works fantastic, doesn't streak or whiten and lasts for months even through rain. I also like how it brings back the life to faded trim without that greasy/overly shiny wet look. I also appreciate that it doesn't collect dust after you...

    Shop Eye Wash Station

Thanks to this post, and having had similar scares in the garage that have been described here, I got a Bradley faucet mount eyewash unit on eBay last week. It looks nearly identical to the one posted by the OP. It was $50 shipped. The peace of mind is worth it given a few of the "Oh S**T"...

Plumbing question: adding drain to existing washing machine drain

El Guappo- I'm sure you'll get a "plethora" of responses, but just in case... I'm in SD and have the washer/dryer in the garage too. I did exactly what you are describing when we bought our house. I cut an "access" hole in the drywall to get to the drainpipe and then cut out a section to...

RUST ALERT!!! What's your all purpose shop oil/grease?

I'm a big fan of Jig-A-Loo. Used to be easier to find, so I usually buy it by the case from their website. I think it's the best multipurpose lubricant out there, regardless of price. Like a lot of folks on this thread, I was brought up and taught the "ways of WD-40" and it still has a place...
