    Drill press rebuild/restore or scrap?

I would be inclined to keep it. You could do a moderate to full blown resto with that DP. You don't even really have to do it "right now". Hang on to it for awhile, and then you might find yourself comming up with plans and ideas for it. Kinda like an old car/truck. Good luck!

    Belt/Disk sander score

o For $100 I could get 3 stands built specifically for it from HF. Unless your sanding/grinding more than 1/2" off whatever....you shouldn't need to be hunched over long enough to get a sore back.

Cleaning up the back yard yesterday. I had an old Weber charcoal grill that needed hauled to the dump. I decided to use the stand to mount my newly aquired disk/belt sander, so I cleaned it up a little bit. Need to come up with a table top which shouldn't be difficult to come up with...

    This engine hoist worth anything

Garage selling yesterday. One of the items I came across was this engine hoist. I don't know if it works, the seller didn't know either. He said $20 and you can take it home. Took up too much space at his house so he stuffed it in his trailer. I didn't take it home because I didn't have a...

    1940's drill press

Yea, a few of us talked about that earlier in the thread. I'm pretty certain that someone swapped out the Craftsman head and put it on another brand drill press a long time ago. The table and base looked equally beat up and old as the head was, but I'm sure its a mix/match set up.

Yes I was able to use the garage sale one. Its a little bit smaller than the original one though. It will do for now.

    1940's drill press

Well, I put it all back together and tried it out. I'm really happy with it. There is still a few things I need to take care of. I'm going to search for a bigger Jacobs chuck/arbor and shorten the handles about 2" and keep searching for that metal band up top. I used high temp grease on...

    Belt/Disk sander score

Set out for a good morning of garage selling today. I found and bought a Cal Hawk belt/disc sander. He was asking $60 for it. I told him I would give him a crisp $20 bill and before he could counter offer, his wife stood up from her chair and said "SOLD!" :lol_hitti So I plugged it in...
