Building a DIY CNC Plasma Table....

Fyi, I have decided not to go forward on this. As bad as I want a plasma table, I simply don't have the time or money right now. Still watching with interest. Hope it continues to go well!

Building a DIY CNC Plasma Table....

Also interested in this build as I have bought the plans. I built a BOM with prices, which is currently at $675. That's for XY and Z axes, 3d parts from JD's garage, the water table pan, all new hardware for assembly, and steel tube of frame. It does not inlcude one of the motors (currently...

    Help/Clarification w/ quote for electrical

Here is the itemized invoice from the electrician. Would still love to hear what others estimate this job should cost. Again, I'm in Atlanta, GA. CW-Circuit Wiring - 30-40 Amp Circuit Level 2. Install 15-20 Amp Circuit Level 2. No Access In Conduit or Major Obstacles, New Wire From...

    Help/Clarification w/ quote for electrical

240, 241, whatever it takes. Jk, I know. Well, I don't really know, which is why I'm hiring an electrician. 1" pipe. Also, why won't it work? I appreciate the input, but I wonder just what it is that I am not explaining well. I'm sure you have reasons for saying this, but I have to trust...

    Help/Clarification w/ quote for electrical

After talking it over with the father in law, looks like I will be going with two additional circuits, one 15 amp dedicated for the air compressor and one 30 amp dedicated to the other 220 receptacles. As for the lights, I'm going with the attached (with the GJ discount), unless you guys...

    Help/Clarification w/ quote for electrical

Thanks to everyone who responded. This is exactly the type of questions/advice I needed. Compressor is 14.? amps and welder is 20 or 21.? (Also, if I could do it myself, I would. I have no problem paying, just don't want somebody to quote me a ridiculous price because I have a nice house...

    Help/Clarification w/ quote for electrical

All, I just got a quote from a local electrician for installing 220v receptacles and lighting in my new (home) garage. I have a few questions and hoped I could get a little clarification. Basically, my garage is 30x23, three bay, 9 ft ceiling. I intend to do all minor car/bike/kart...

    LED strip lights

They are def rated for 12V DC, b/c they are supposed to be hooked up to a car battery. Am I correct in assuming that the lights likely wouldn't fade when hooked up to a car battery b/c the alternator would be constantly recharging the battery?

    LED strip lights

I have a problem that I hope somebody can help with. Let me preface this by saying I have an extremely rudimentary understanding of how electricity works. I bout some LED strip lights at the local Pep Boys. They come attached to a battery box with a bunch of button cell batteries; I don't...

    Choosing the right grinder

I want a bench grinder for my garage, but I don't know what size, speed, etc. I'd be sharpening lawn tools, cleaning metal, etc, nothing outside the realm of home handyman. Don't care about vintage; looking for new and reliable. I love my Dewalt drill and angle grinder, so I was looking at...

    Reconditioning stainless steel countertop

Well, I haven't bought the ss counter top yet, and now I'm not sure I will at this point. I think I'm gonna go with wood. I did buy some aluminum sheet pans, and they were nasty. I almost hit them with the wire brush, but Bar Keepers Friend and a lot of elbow grease got it done. Will try the...

OP, that block is aweosome! So much better than the manufactured one I bought (which I love, it just doesn't look as cool).
