Thanks for the come back on Greenfield Village. My wife was Wanda Ford & our son is Aubrey Ford Cowan. She reports to being kin to Henry. I used to have cousins in Detroit & Southfield but they died off or moved. I drive a Buick and 2 Dodge diesels; I guess I should drive a Ford...
Is GREENFIELD VILLAGE still a good, safe place to visit? I was there in 1971 during a phone company strike time. I loved the place and would like to revisit and take the wife. I would go straight there and spend the day and then go back out of the area to skip the badlands.....TIM COWAN
Dollar for dollar I think S-K Tools are a great choice. DEMAYO,On my last 1/4 & 3/8 sets I was able to pop the lids off with a screwdriver and use the bottoms in the tool box dividers for storage....TIM
I bought 3 Snap On(Blue-Point) dead blow hammers about 25 years ago and the plastic broke up on all three. Just before Christmas Snap On sent me a new set of three. Good for popping on wheel covers without a mark, too. I also bought 2 other new ones from S-K (tooltopia) last year.
The gray paint came before the red/orange and lasted until late forties. It may have had the leather handle and then been replaced. The leather handles took a beating and deterated with age. I have an old K-21 box that was gray and the leather handle is just in fair shape....TIM
