Just drug this chest and roll around home, spent the afternoon degreasing it. It's rough around the edges but I couldn't beat the price (free). I think I'll leave it just like it is. I like the crusty old stickers.

You sir, most definitely... ****!!! :D
Great price too.

I actually just picked up an identical top box recently for $30 and the seller told me the bottom box will be mine as soon as it's cleared out. It's a little beat up as well & missing the lock but I love it regardless.

Any idea of the model number or if there was any sort of middle box in that set?

Awesome score.

Not much to tell dreamer! It looks rough, but the drawers all open and close well. I massaged the bottom slide cover a little and got it working good too. I did get the key for the top, I'll have to install a lock on the bottom though.

It was absolutely caked in grease when I picked it up. I used a gallon of purple power and a bottle of simple green to get it clean enough to use. I did put some cheap drawer liner material in it from wal-mart, I'll definitely be shopping for some wrench and socket organizers.

Thanks guys! (my first "you ****"). Don, I have no idea of the model numbers. You seem to have the much-better-looking twin to my top piece. Maybe you can see in the pics that the top chest is not as deep as the bottom. The width is correct, but the top is set back about 3 inches. I am not sure that it is a matching set. It'll work though.

Congrats on a great find.

I'd love to have a new set, but it's just not in the cards right now. This one will do just fine for a good long while.
Don't apologize! Brag about it. The family and work history it evidences is priceless. I've got several with more patina than that and ain't about to paint. Agree, slick it up with some lube and use as is.
