Insulating 2 story garage - Plastic vapor barrier?

I just did a similar in my garage. We put r19 in the walls and r25 in the ceiling all unfaced with a 4mil vapor barrier. The second story is a heated/air conditioned office. We put the vapor barrier on the garage ceiling since the heats going to rise. There also a laminate floor in the above...

My 2 Car 18x29 Detail Studio

Re: my 17x29 detail shop BIG "A" DETAILING queens ny Another option for the ceiling would be the steel sheeting. It comes in 38" x 16' panels and is prefinished and makes for a great ceiling. 36" 's of the panel shows while the other 2" is the overlap. Secure it will pole barn screws and...

    deck / wood sealer?

The best stuff? www.armclark.com Thompsons has nothing going for it but a huge marketing budget. If you want something "decent" on a local level Flood CWF-UV is an okay product if applied correctly. Above all else stay away from water based products and solid stains. The home brews...

    The Fun Has Begun

Well you have a hell of a place to work :) I'm sure the radiant floor heat, spray in insulation and comfort quarters (kitchen, bath and such) added a chunk. I hear ya on "having it done" too. It's too easy to get sidetracked and turn the build into a 5 year ordeal! Been there done that :)

    The Fun Has Begun

Very nice build! I'm soaking up the ideas as I'm getting ready to build in the next year... year and a half. Just bought the land this past summer. Your shop has everything I think I could look for in a shop :) I'm looking at - at least a 42x64 but will go large if the city allows it :) Do...

I can't believe I fell for the "ON SNAP IN RAIL"

Hey now....... he represented the auction in a legit mannor if you ask me. We used to sell on ebay (ALOT!) and the fact is it's expensive. Especially when the auctions end without a buyer. You have to play the game unfortunately in order to take best advantage of the "advertising" your paying...

Finally building my shop - 48'x72'

Outstanding build....... did you draw up the plans yourself or is this a kit? This is exactly what I would like to put up next spring. Love the 1/4 porch on the shops as it helps to tie it in to the "residential" feel.

Compression - Show Off Your Compressor

Our entire business revolves around restoring and preserving log home and other structures. Pricing is probably right in there as our average is around the same. A better media to use though is recycled glass. Cob tends to tear and raise the grain too bad. A 40/60 recycled glass leaves the...

    My little space,,,,,,cleaned up

I'm planning on doing the same with the overhead storage. Too much stuff on the floor in my garage and I have 10' ceilings so the top 2' around will be a 2' deep shelf. Might put some doors or something to conceal it in the future... who knows! :) Like the idea though and your garage looks great.
