    Senville Aura or Pioneer Hyperperformance

Pioneer(made by Gree) is the other one I was looking at. Their ++ compressors (like the hyperheat) perform well in cold weather. I’m probably going to have to buy the other wifi stick; why they include an Alexa limited one is beyond me.…

    Senville Aura or Pioneer Hyperperformance

I have looked at the best Fujitsu mini splits and they are indeed very good, but over twice the cost of the senville SENA-09HF, which comes with a lineset and basepan heater AND does over 11,000 BTU heat at 5F. it also has an HSPF of 13, and one of the highest HSPF2s. It’s made by Midea, who is...

    Senville Aura or Pioneer Hyperperformance

Good to know. I’ve seen some data that seems impossible; now I know why. I always verify the AHRI and sometimes Energy Star ratings, but knowing how many BTU at 17 or 5F is useful compared to 47F values.

    Senville Aura or Pioneer Hyperperformance

The site is https://ashp.neep.org. Any unit that is AHRI rated is there. Took me a while to set up good searches, but it’s worth it as it show way more heating info than anywhere else. I tried and passed some level one 608 practice tests, so I’ll probably pay for the test, just to pick up some...

    Senville Aura or Pioneer Hyperperformance

I’m sn rngineer, so have done heat loss calcs and have a couple years records of high lows indoors and out at this seasonal cabin. I could put in a propane tank, but propane is about 3X the price at the same BTU. On the colder nights these units will still produce at 2-3 COP at the temps I’d...

    Senville Aura or Pioneer Hyperperformance

I’m getting ready to submit a permit application for a small (9kBTU) mini-split for a mountain cabin downstairs(heat only). I’m doing a self install amd have all the equipment and knowledge to do so. Torn between the Pioneer and Senville though. The Pioneer is attractive due to better...

Single zone Mini split for 40x48 barn

I spent a bunch of time at ASHP.NEEP.ORG which is THE place for evaluating heating performance. Most of the lower cost ones do not have a very good turn down ratio. This means the minimum at 47 degrees may be too many BTUs compared to what you size the system for at 5 degrees. For example, you...

Buying mini-split - is my pump sufficient?

Do you mean the nuts that come with the linesets?

Buying mini-split - is my pump sufficient?

I think I’ll have to cut one end to not have a bunch of extra line depending on which direction I go. There is a lot of internet post on bad flares on included lines, but you know how one negative post gains traction through repetition on the internet, ha ha.

Buying mini-split - is my pump sufficient?

I am going to install a small, single head Senville mini-split, and trying to collect the proper tools. My current HVAC pump is a 1.2 CFM pump, which should be sufficient for 22 feet hose evacuation, but I notice that a lot of professionals remove the valve core first, which reduces resistance...

Single zone Mini split for 40x48 barn

I did a spreadsheet projecting increased energy costs over 25 years when I designed(I’m an engineer) and built my house. Because of my projections and then current costs, I went with a less efficient system. Guess what? My projections were wrong. Energy costs went up faster than the in the 25...
