Good afternoon, got a chance to tinker with this this evening. Does it matter which side of the centrifugal switch goes to power? I note one side has the points so I thought I would ask. Thanks.
Hey, I’m sorry for the delayed response. I’d like to thank you for your help and I’m going to take a closer look at the capacitor and centrifugal switch wiring this evening. I will hopefully report back with positive results!
Hey, thanks for getting back to me. There are six total wires from the stator. The first four that wire to the terminal block I was able to replicate as those wires were in their original state. There are two wires from what I assume to be, the start side of the winding. That is where I’m stuck...
Hello Gents,
I'm having some trouble re-wiring the motor that came with my 9A. I'm down to wiring the start windings correctly. There are two start wires from the stator. Then I have the capacitor and centrifugal switch. I would like to know if anyone could provide a wiring diagram to show me...
I got mine sorted out and it’s running like a champ. The replacement capacitor appears to be correct, but it is mounted externally so you’ll need a housing. Fortunately, I had one laying around which is a good thing because the guys are on eBay wants stupid money for a capacitor cover. I’m...
Hello, I restored a craftsman 115 6962 electric motor for my Atlas Drill Press. New bearings, replaced damaged wiring, and a new capacitor. I finished it off with a media blast and a brand new paint job. I even bought a replica craftsman nameplate with all the specs on it from one of the guys on...
I’ve restored an older craftsman half horsepower capacitor motor model 115-6962. Looks wonderful but the metal nameplate is pretty beat up. Wondering if there is a reproduction or even a decal that I could put over the existing plate and reinstall. Thanks.
That’s what I thought and you might be right but then I noticed a Champer cut into the spindle sleeve. The craftsman drill presses have a similar assembly and they have a sea clip so I’m gonna see if I can get one that size. Thanks for looking into it.
Gents,
I’m restoring an atlas 53 and I can’t figure out what holds the spindle pulley assembly onto the bushing sleeve in the drill press body? It seems like this pulley just slides on to the shaft and sits there without any mechanical fastener. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks a bunch.
