My old Delta shows 2000-3400 rpm, I run it middle to low end so probably mid 2000’s. Which is right in between the dual speed options I have found. What is it that makes a variable speed one cost >500$?? I guess I can try some different speeds and see how it works, maybe I could go with one...

Thanks. I’d thought about that but it seems like buffers (for whatever reason) are much more $$$, especially with variable speed (the fixed ones just run too fast for my use). Any recommendations for a decent buffer?
