Oil carry over from air compressor. Rebuild/replace?

@Lelandwelds Any recommendations on other pumps? Honestly air compressor use is an occasional thing for me. The problem is that the occasional uses that I bought a big compressor for are blasting and painting car parts. Then I need a decent amount of air. I recently tried to prime some parts...

Oil carry over from air compressor. Rebuild/replace?

I have a Kobalt 7060HfV with the NS18S pump. It's about 11 years old. I'm getting some oil carry over on the discharge, and some oil leakage out of the upper seals on the pump. its just fine enough that I've got a sheen on the top side of the tank. Is this a sign the rings are shot? Obviously...

Compressed air dryer, run 2 smaller ones in parrallel?

I'm setting up a air system in the garage fed from a 60gal Kobalt compressor. I'm going to use it for general air tool use, some HVLP car painting (panel work, undercarriage), and some sandblasting the car. I already have a desiccant air dryer, 1/4" npt, rated at 10 cfm. I'm thinking that I...

Epoxy Primer fisheyes, possible air compressor oil issue?

I really appreciate the input. I'm going to strip the cover later and start from scratch. To answer a few questions /comments . The garage is at 70f and has been for days. I put in a minisplit last year. I always keep the garage comfy. I heated it up a little extra for painting. I had one of...

Epoxy Primer fisheyes, possible air compressor oil issue?

Does anyone think the air compressor needs a rebuild based on the oil sheen I got from the air leak? I was able to find a website with parts. It would cost me about $80-90 to replace the intake valves, gaskets, and rings. Not that bad really.

Epoxy Primer fisheyes, possible air compressor oil issue?

It was months since I sprayed the self etching primer. I'm using Eastwood epoxy primer. The directions aren't specific about spraying over different types of finishes. I really should have used a good cleaner first. I just gave the SEP a light sand and then cleaned with alcohol. Hence my not...

Epoxy Primer fisheyes, possible air compressor oil issue?

I can do that. I could understand the headlight cover being contaminated, it was months since I painted it with the self etching primer, but the ttop frame was just sprayed a few days ago, and there wasn't an issue with the rust encapsulator coating. I certainly haven't used any silicone...

Replace Craftsman Pro screwdriver set with???

I've got a set of 20 of those craftsman screwdrivers and I've only had that happen to one of them. If I had it happen to a bunch, I'd be a little more concerned. Not worth upgrading for me at the time. If it was just one or two of mine, I'd fill the cracks with epoxy.

Epoxy Primer fisheyes, possible air compressor oil issue?

So yesterday I sprayed some 2k epoxy primer on a few small parts for the car. I got a bunch of tiny fisheyes. The part shown is a firebird headlight cover that was previously primed with self etching primer. I gave it a light sanding and alcohol wipe before spraying epoxy. The other part was...

Floor jack will only lower with weight applied

Any good guides on how to disassemble/reassemble. I've never torn into a jack before.

Floor jack will only lower with weight applied

The quick lift works fine. I've never opened the oil system and it's never leaked. It used to drop fine.

Floor jack will only lower with weight applied

I have a 3.5ton michelin jack (generic steel import) that works great going up, but will only lower with weight on it. When I drop my vehicle, after I pull it out, I have to step on the saddle really hard to get it to finish lowering. I know we have some jack experts here. How do I fix this? Thanks.
