Sedge is used at the top/ridge because it is both highly durable and, unlike the reeds, is flexible enough to bend over the ridge. I’m guessing that it’s more vulnerable to potential nesting because it is softer, with more ‘give’ than the reeds. Great job btw. It looks superb.

First cousin to an A3. Both daughters have had similar Golfs. The younger one has moved from a Mk5, like yours, to a Mk7, while the older one has moved on to a Touran, as she has 3 kids and needed more space. Essentially still a Golf though. BTW, I have already subscribe.

I hope the sale completes in the next few days. It‘s very frustrating but some solicitors seem to leave everything to the last minute and inevitably a wheel comes off. All the best with the retirement though.
