I wanted the ability to hang things anywhere I wanted. The durability is nice but as said if you are decently careful you wont ding drywall too bad, you can always step up to thicker drywall for more durability (5/8" v. 1/2").

changed the oil in my Wrangler, the wife's Grand Cherokee, and did the back brakes on my moms car.
Tried to replace the pinion seal on my rear axle of the Wrangler... but I didn't have a 1-5/16 socket to get the nut off. So it sits on jack stands waiting.
I put 160 tons under the slab for my pole barn and ~4" for the large parking pad next to it... I did it in ~4" lifts with a plate compactor, then a roller for the last compaction. Then lots of snow melt and rain. It was damn tough to dig out for the vertical insulation and conduit under it.

The garage doors were installed and look awesome! The guys took 2 days to get installed. Overall I learned... hire out the hard stuff!

After hanging 1/3 the drywall for the scissor trust section the wife decided that it would be better to see the trusses and hang drywall between the trusses with a little insulation behind the drywall.
This choice may have been pushed by the high lift doors extending into the ceiling section...
