Hello, You are correct , the jaws are out of alignment by a 1/4". How do you know the degree of the problem and if it can be fixed?

Hello, And thankyou for your reply. I do own the vise it was my fathers who has since passes away. He was quite a craftsman and tool collector. The clamps were mine. But do to circumstances I need to down size . I will send pictures shortly. Thanks
