Tony: we are not an appraisal service, but if you want to join and participate in the forum you might get better information as you know us. might I suggest you post up a few pictures because i'm not sure what vise that is and i've got close to 2,000 posts on the main vise thread.

any history or flaws to tell us about would help too.

thanks and welcome to the group

Emmert vises are peculiar little buggers. While this is a 4a, the 6a is the same only a little bigger.

Tony: sorry to hear about your Dad. pictures would help for sure and i use the paperclip just above where you are writing your posts. click on it and a pop up will come up where you can pick up to 7 pictures per post and it will download thumbnails on your post. with 2 clicks on the thumbnail the viewers will be able to see them full size.

also if you go in your GJ profile and put in your location it might help unless you are planning on trying to put it on Ebay. if you are close to me i might be interested in buying the vise and clamps if you just want cash or might want to trade for another nice tool like an old restored Craftsman table saw i'm going to sell soon.

good luck

The market is so thin on something such as an Emmert, the only sure way to find a fair price is a well-written and photographed eBay listing.

Tony: i know you are a new member, but maybe you might have an old member that lives close to you to help or buy your vise and clamps and give them a good home if you would care to say. i live in Seattle, but there are members all over the US and the world that belong here that are stand up guys and gals.

the jaws don't quite match up on your Emmert so not sure what is the issue or how exactly how to fix it, but it looks like an interesting vise.

good luck
