    Are you using a steel , or Nickel Copper line ? When i would use the tool for a bubble flare , it would not make a proper flare it would make a double ridge. ( i will try to post a pic) Thanks.

    I used the following from Napa. It fits your budget, i got it on sale ( i think it was 130) Overall its good, had to redo the bubble flare brake lines on my van. Its simple to use, and you can use this on tool on the car itself, unlike some other tools. https://www.napacanada.com/en/p/SER165C

    I would just loosen the lower Rad hose. While removing it you could damage the it, and you may needing a new part or even a new radiator

    T45 Thanks :thumbup: I figured its the cross threading.. As when i rebuilt my 350SBC, i did use a tap to chase the threads ( just was VERY careful) so far no issues. All holes on a Gen I are through holes where the block mates with the head. So there wasn't too much debris in them.

    If you align the tap to the threads will it cut new threads? Wouldn't the tap just move along the existing hole, and clean out the debris. I asked my Dad the same question, who is a tool & die maker, and he said they've always used taps . If they dont have a tap, they will use a bolt and...
